Olay Essentials Beauty Fluid | Review

Olay is a skincare brand that been in the market for decades. They have several skincare products for various skin concerns and ages. Today I will review the Olay Essentials Beauty Fluid which is also known as Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid. I bought this lotion from Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. due to which the packaging is different from the American packaging. It retails for $8.99 at Ulta and around Tk.1100-1300 in Dhaka. Anyway, lets take a look at the product information before I write my thoughts on it.

According to the website:

Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid is the original Pink Beauty Fluid. For over 60 years, this daily moisturizer has helped millions of women, all over the world, soothe dry skin. Its classic, light, non-greasy formula is dermatologically tested and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores.

  • Olay’s classic beauty fluid provides 48 hour moisture to soothe dry skin
  • Restores moisture to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Result is soft, smooth, beautiful skin
  • Non-greasy, dermatologically tested and non-comedogenic
  • One bottle, 4.0 fl oz (112 g)

I was introduced to Olay Essentials Beauty Fluid by my mother. I remember watching her use this lotion on her face daily. When I entered my teen years, my mother quickly hooked me up to this lotion. To your amaze it’s been over 10 years and I have never looked back. This lotion is perfect for my combination skin type. I personally do not prefer lotions that feel thick or heavy on the skin and are greasy. This lotion does exactly what it says: light, non-greasy, soothe dry skin. It absorbs into your skin beautifully after a few minutes. It makes your skin look hydrated and not greasy. Your foundation will blend like a dream on top of this lotion.

The lotion itself is a beautiful faint pink color (it looks cream in the photo due to the lighting). Don’t worry it does not make your face look pink. The lotion does not add any kind of tint to your face. Once you apply it on your face and start blending, the color quickly fades into nothing. The consistency of the lotion (picture below) is semi runny.

If you have dry, flaky skin you might have to use a serum with it. For oil skin types, you can use this lotion as well. In general, it’s a great lotion for every skin type and ages.

I would totally recommend this lotion to anybody who likes light weight lotions with enough hydration.

  • light weight
  • non-greasy
  • soothe dry skin
  • for all skin types
  • makeup application is smoother

  • have to add serum or cream for dry, flaky skin
  • lotion will run out the tube if inverted
  • consistency might be a con for some people
